Packaging Guidelines

Use sturdy, corrugated cardboard boxes for packing your items. Ensure they are in good condition and can withstand the shipping process.

Choose the right size box for your items. Avoid using boxes that are too large, as this can cause items to move around during transit, increasing the risk of damage. Conversely, do not overstuff boxes, as this can cause them to burst.

Use bubble wrap, foam, or other cushioning materials to protect your items, especially if they are fragile or have sharp edges. Fill any empty spaces in the box with packing peanuts, crumpled paper, or air pillows to prevent items from shifting during transit.

Seal your packages securely with strong, pressure-sensitive packing tape. Avoid using duct tape, masking tape, or cellophane tape, as they may not provide sufficient security.

Clearly label your packages with the sender’s and receiver’s names, addresses, and contact information. Also, include a duplicate label inside the package in case the outer label gets damaged or lost.

If shipping multiple boxes, number them (e.g., 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3) to help keep track of your shipment and ensure all packages arrive at their destination.

Best Practices for Customs:
  • Accurately declare the contents of your shipment on the customs forms. Provide a detailed description, including the type, quantity, and value of the items.

  • Ensure that your shipment complies with the import and export regulations of both the origin and destination countries. Familiarize yourself with any restrictions, prohibited items, or special requirements for your shipment.

  • Keep copies of all invoices, receipts, and other documents related to the shipment. Customs officials may request these documents for verification purposes.

  • If shipping high-value items, consider purchasing additional insurance to protect against potential loss or damage.

  • For shipments subject to customs duties and taxes, ensure that you or your consignee (the person receiving the shipment) are prepared to pay the required fees upon arrival. Be aware that failure to pay customs duties and taxes may result in delays, additional storage fees, or even seizure of the shipment.
